Our client is looking for a proactive and reliable individual to join the Waste Services team, dedicated to maintaining Swindon’s public spaces clean, safe, and compliant with environmental regulations.
The Fly Tipping Rapid Response Operative will swiftly respond to reports of fly-tipping throughout the borough.
Responsibilities include the safe removal, investigation, and reporting of illegal waste disposal, contributing significantly to environmental protection and community support.
- Respond promptly to fly-tipping reports and ensure safe waste removal.
- Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and collaborate with enforcement teams as needed.
- Safely operate vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety standards, council policies, and environmental laws.
- Provide exceptional customer service in handling public inquiries and complaints.
Full UK driving licence.
Previous experience in waste management, environmental services, or rapid response operations.
Familiarity with environmental regulations, fly-tipping legislation, and enforcement procedures.
Proficiency in safe equipment and vehicle operation, and waste management.
Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to handle pressure effectively.
Desirable Qualifications:
Training or certification in manual handling, health & safety, or waste management.
Relevant qualification in Environmental Services, Waste Management, or Health & Safety.
