£400 per day.

This position offers flexible working, with the expectation of being in the Basildon office 1-2 days per week.

This is a temporary position, expected to last approximately 6 months, with the potential opportunity to go permanent.

Working to ensure that our client's organisation has a sound financial basis, the Financial Accountant reports to the Finance Manager (Financial Accounting) and takes day-to-day responsibility for directing the work of the Financial Accounting team.

The Finance, Commercial and Procurement Service supports delivery of the council’s corporate plan and the service leads on ensuring that the council has a sustainable financial position.

As a Financial Accountant you will be able to motivate individuals, give clear direction and support staff to complete the work of the Financial Accounting team. You will be experienced in managing a team of workers and experience of managing the closure of accounts process will be an advantage. Knowledge of local authority VAT will also be beneficial.

Your skills will include time management, performance management with excellent negotiation and communication skills. We are looking for an individual who will support the Finance Manager (Financial Accounting) while also guiding the Financial Accounting team to provide the best service possible.
