Description

This is a general grounds keeping role maintaining the Kingsdown and Whitworth Road Cemetery using mowers, strimmers and other general hand tools.

Also some involvement with burials, generally assisting the existing team members.

This is physical, outdoor work in all weathers.

Hours are: Monday to Friday from 7:30am - 3:30pm or 8.00am - 4.00pm.

Responsibilities
  • Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to maintain high standards of outdoor aesthetics.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools for repair, and general maintenance tasks across various sites.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and outdoor spaces to identify maintenance needs or potential hazards.
  • Support team members in specialised gardening activities, including soil preparation and planting schemes.
  • Follow health and safety protocols diligently during all operations to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture or construction is highly desirable.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, hand tools and mowers is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with basic maintenance procedures for outdoor equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina for manual tasks.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
